Summer is upon us and what better excuse to go out for a walk in the country? Take along a field guide or two, a pair of binoculars and a magnifying glass and see what you can spot.
Back in the garden a butterfly feeder, bird feeder or bird bath can attract plenty of interesting species. To keep the kids amused combine them with one of our spotters guides which contain a score card with points for different species.
Here is Suffolk we have spotted an Adder sunning itself on a quiet country road several times in the last few weeks - watch out if you are out and about that you don't disturb these fascinating reptiles. |

Water, water...!Don't forget to put out a clean source of drinking water for the birds in these warmer months. Look our for our fabulous new bird baths in stoneware - the perfect treat for the birds and you!
Pond dipping is the hobby of the moment. Use a long handled net to keep children at a safe distance from deep water and always supervise carefully. Add a magnifiying glass, small tank and a freshwater species guide to make the perfect day out.
Our butterfly kits are still going strong. The Painted Lady species are very easy to rear from caterpillars in 5-7 weeks and come complete with food - the perfect summer holiday activity
