Simply Wild About Nature!
This is a great time of year for those who love nature and wildlife. Not only are there lots of birds, bugs and other creatures out and about but also in the evenings Springwatch returns to the telly!
We are pleased to be talking to lots of school teachers at the moment. Don't forget that we will send an invoice and work with purchase order systems for those schools that cannot make card payments. Best sellers for schools at the moment are butterfly gardens, ladybird kits and wormeries.
While House Martins haven't arrived here yet, we have three nest boxes occupied in the Wild About Nature garden. Our bird feeders have never been harder to keep full as hungry parents pop in for a quick snack!
What to do this Month...
  • Bumble bees are rightly receiving lots of attention at the moment. Did you know butterfly feeders can also help support bee populations?

  • Many people have been replacing used bee tubes with new ones, so we know that bee tubes are excellent value for money. There is the excitement of watching the solitary bees (which rarely sting) and the bonus of having better pollinated fruit, veg and flowers resulting in better yields. Perfect for gardeners!

  • Thinking about tadpoles? For brilliant and easy instructions on how to raise them, use our field guides!

  • Don't stop feeding birds just because it's warm. Easy access to food means better nourished chicks. Sunflower hearts and Black sunflower seeds are working well in our garden at the moment.

  • Hedgehogs will soon be thinking about breeding - food and a safe shelter can help them raise healthy young

  • Start a nature kit - butterfly or ladybird kits are great fun for the kids and adults too! We have a triops kit on the go at the moment and it's fascinating
